Portugal beat Norway 2–1 in Group A4 of the 2026/27 UEFA Nations League at the Estádio do Dragão in Porto on 4 October. The match kicked off at 19:45 local time, or 03:45 on 5 October in South Korea. Gonçalo Ramos scored the 79th-minute winner as Portugal secured a fourth successive victory and a quarter-final place.
Portugal also won 2–1 away to Norway on 27 September, but this was a comeback victory at home. Because both meetings ended with the same score, checking the date and home team helps distinguish the two results and their video clips.

A quick equaliser, then Ramos delivers
According to UEFA’s match report, Kristoffer Ajer gave Norway the lead. João Cancelo equalised just two minutes later, before Ramos converted João Félix’s lay-off in the 79th minute to put Portugal ahead.
Portugal held on after Francisco Conceição was sent off for a second booking late in the match. Their response to conceding was swift; after taking the lead, they had to protect it with one fewer player.
Why 12 points are already enough for a top-two finish
Adding up UEFA’s results after four matches gives Portugal four wins and 12 points, and Denmark two wins and six points. Wales and Norway have one win and three points each. The top two teams in each League A group advance to the quarter-finals.
Even if Wales or Norway win both remaining matches, either can add only six points and finish with nine. Neither can reach Portugal’s existing total of 12, so Portugal are guaranteed at least second place. This secures a quarter-final berth, not the tournament title.
Two November fixtures remain; check the date on official records
Portugal’s remaining group matches are at home to Denmark on 14 November and away to Wales on 17 November, using local dates. The quarter-finals follow in March 2027. With qualification settled, their results and performance in those remaining group games become the next points to watch.
