Slovenia beat Scotland 2–1 at Hampden Park in Glasgow, coming from behind after Ryan Christie’s 31st-minute opener. Aljoša Matko equalised in the 56th minute and Danijel Sturm scored the winner in the 71st. The Scottish October 6 fixture took place after midnight on October 7 in India.
The final result is confirmed by the Slovenian football association’s report and ESPN’s PA match report. Slovenia moved to seven points from four Nations League matches, with Scotland on four. For readers catching up in India, the key is to match this comeback with the correct fixture rather than an older Scotland–Slovenia video.
The second half changed the result
Scotland led 1–0 at half-time through Christie. Jan Oblak then saved another Christie effort early in the second half before Matko equalised. The order matters: Scotland had an opportunity to extend the lead before Slovenia levelled the score.
Sturm’s winner followed a delivery from Matko on the right. Matko therefore contributed both the equalising goal and the final pass for the winner. Those two scoring moments, separated by 15 minutes on the recorded match clock, explain the change from a Scottish lead to a Slovenian victory without turning every attack into a decisive event.
A disallowed effort is not a third Slovenian goal
The Slovenian association also records a Matko effort in the 69th minute that was ruled out for offside. It does not enter the 2–1 final score. A short clip showing the ball in the net can be misleading if the decision immediately afterwards is missing.
The confirmed sequence is consequently Christie 31, Matko 56 and Sturm 71. Slovenia’s report places the team second behind Switzerland after this result. One match does not establish the final group outcome; the remaining fixtures still determine where the teams finish.
How to check the overnight result from India
The Scottish FA’s preview listed a 7:45 p.m. UK start on October 6. With Britain on summer time, that converts to 12:15 a.m. IST on October 7. A site showing the local Glasgow date and an Indian calendar showing October 7 can therefore both refer to this same match.
Use the official association report linked below to check the score and scorers before selecting a highlight clip. A September 26 goalless meeting also appeared in search results during our check. We could not verify playback on the UEFA highlights page or its availability in India, so this article makes no promise of a free replay or a particular Indian broadcaster.
