South Africa vs Australia’s first Test is under way at Kingsmead, Durban, on October 9, with the scheduled match running to October 13. Use Cricket Australia’s official Match Centre for the live scorecard and confirmed playing XIs. Australia won the toss and chose to bat. The opening session began at 1 pm IST, equivalent to 9:30 am in South Africa; FanCode lists the match for live viewing in India. At the 14:02 IST check on October 9, the official card showed Australia 27/2 after 11.5 overs; this is a dated observation, not a final score.
This is the first of three Tests, not an ODI fixture. Search results combine live commentary, preview squads and streaming pages, so a scorecard query can lead to different kinds of information. The official Match Centre supplies the current innings and selected team, while the preview supplies the timetable. A live innings score is an observation at that moment, not the match result.

Where to find the live scorecard and selected XI
Open the Match Centre linked below and select Scorecard for batting and bowling figures; Commentary and Live Blog provide the sequence of play. In Australian notation, 1-23 means one wicket lost for 23 runs—the same innings normally written 23/1 for Indian readers. The score can change between two page loads, so this guide points to the live record rather than placing a stale innings total in its title.
The confirmed Australian XI in the Match Centre is Nic Maddinson, Travis Head, Marnus Labuschagne, Steve Smith, Matt Renshaw, Alex Carey, Beau Webster, Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Nathan Lyon and Josh Hazlewood. South Africa’s XI is Aiden Markram, Ryan Rickelton, David Bedingham, Temba Bavuma, Tristan Stubbs, Wiaan Mulder, Kyle Verreynne, Marco Jansen, Keshav Maharaj, Simon Harmer and Anrich Nortje. These are the selected XIs, rather than every player in the tour squad.
India session times and the local viewing route
For Indian viewers, the scheduled first session is 1–3 pm IST, the second 3:40–5:40 pm and the third 6–8 pm. These convert the official South African times by adding three hours and 30 minutes. An extra half-hour is available to complete daily overs, and actual play can change. The timetable gives planned sessions, not a guarantee of uninterrupted cricket.
FanCode’s specific South Africa–Australia match page provides the Indian live-viewing route and describes streaming as premium. Open that fixture and check the available pass before paying; this article does not promise free viewing or a current pass price that has not been verified at checkout. Cricket Australia’s Kayo and Fox Cricket guidance is expressly for Australia and should not be substituted for Indian access.
The later Tests have different start times
For the rest of the tour, the official schedule lists the second Test at St George’s Park, Gqeberha, on October 18–22, and the third at Newlands, Cape Town, on October 27–31. Their local starts differ from Durban: 10 am and 10:30 am, converting to 1:30 pm and 2 pm IST. A saved 1 pm reminder therefore applies to the first Test, rather than automatically to the whole series.
Follow the live scorecard for wickets and innings totals, the dated timetable for session planning, and the Indian broadcaster’s fixture page for access. That division resolves the main gaps left by a score alone. The useful next update is an innings or match result, a changed schedule or a broadcaster condition; changes to this first Test belong on this same URL.
The official first-Test scorecard and selected XIs were rechecked. The body retains the14:02IST October9 observation27/2, not a final score; official sessions and India FanCode access are separated from Australian broadcast rights.
