The Atlanta Hawks visit the Orlando Magic at Kia Center on Wednesday, 21 October 2026, with tip-off scheduled for 7 p.m. EDT. In the Orlando market, the local routes are Magic TV 27 and the Magic’s DAZN service; in the Atlanta market, viewers can use WANF or eligible Prime Video coverage. This guide covers US viewing conditions, not the live score.
The game opens Orlando’s 2026–27 season and is Sean Sweeney’s official NBA head-coaching debut, according to the Magic’s 20 October preview. It also arrives one day after Atlanta announced its new Prime Video arrangement. That change makes an old streaming guide a poor basis for choosing this season’s Hawks feed.
US viewing routes for the 21 October opener
| Viewer location | Free antenna route | Streaming route |
|---|---|---|
| Greater Orlando / eligible Magic territory | Magic TV 27 in Greater Orlando | Magic on DAZN: $119.99 season or $19.99 monthly |
| Atlanta / eligible Hawks territory | WANF 46.1 where receivable | Prime Video: included with Prime in eligible territory |
| Outside local territories | No local antenna access promised | NBA League Pass, subject to location and blackouts |
Tip-off scheduled 7 p.m. EDT, 21 October. Prices and rights checked 22 October KST / 21 October US Eastern. This is a US guide; it makes no UK rights or price claim.
A season opener with new viewing arrangements
Atlanta says its locally televised games will stream on Prime Video within the Hawks’ eligible territory, included with an existing Prime membership without an additional team subscription. The announcement covers the team’s five-state footprint in Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, South Carolina and Mississippi. It excludes nationally exclusive games and does not make the local feed available to every Prime member nationwide.
Free over-the-air television remains a separate option. Atlanta News First identifies WANF channel 46.1 for viewers who can receive its Atlanta-area signal. In Greater Orlando, the Magic list Magic TV 27 as the main free local station, with selected games on WFTV 9. An antenna route depends on reception; “free” here describes the broadcast, not the cost of a streaming membership.
Free antenna broadcasts and paid streams serve different territories
Orlando’s team page lists its DAZN Season Pass at $119.99 and Monthly Pass at $19.99 for eligible local viewers. Those are the team’s displayed subscription prices, not a checkout quote. They should not be compared with Atlanta’s “no additional cost” wording as if Prime itself were free: the Hawks stream is included in a separate existing membership.
For viewers outside the teams’ local territories, NBA League Pass is the relevant official route to check. Local blackouts still apply; the Magic explicitly warn that most Florida viewers cannot use League Pass to watch the local team live. A subscription name alone therefore does not establish access to this particular game at a particular address.
Choose the feed for where you are watching
Start with the linked NBA game page to match the date and teams. Then use the Magic broadcast page if you are in its territory, or the Hawks’ Prime announcement and WANF guide if you are in Atlanta’s. Outside those areas, check the game’s availability for your location through NBA’s viewing route before buying a pass.
The practical choice is between the local broadcast you can receive, the local streaming package for which your location qualifies, and an eligible out-of-market feed. The new Hawks deal changes the Atlanta streaming route, while Orlando’s DAZN price belongs to a different local service. Keeping territory and membership separate is what prevents a valid subscription from becoming the wrong purchase for this game.
