The Lotte Giants and KT Wiz finished their October 4 KBO game in Suwon tied 2–2 after 11 innings. KT scored once in each of the first two innings. Lotte replied with Jo Se-jin’s solo home run in the fifth and a run on Jeon Min-jae’s ground ball in the eighth. The KBO’s official scoreboard marks the game as final at 2–2 through 11 innings.

The turning point was Lotte’s tying run in the eighth. KT did not hold its early two-run lead, but Lotte did not take the lead either. Tracking when the scores became level, and how long they remained there, explains the path to the draw.

KT’s early lead, Lotte’s two replies

KT opened the scoring on Ahn Hyeon-min’s sacrifice fly in the bottom of the first and made it 2–0 on Jang Jun-won’s RBI hit in the second. The official video list identifies Choi Won-jun scoring the first run and Jang driving in the second. KT’s remaining inning totals are all zero.

Jo’s solo homer in the top of the fifth cut Lotte’s deficit to one run at 1–2. In the eighth, Victor Reyes scored on Jeon’s ground ball to make it 2–2. TVING labels that clip with both Jeon’s batted ball and Reyes reaching home. A home run and a later single run, in different innings, erased the two-run deficit.

Level in the eighth, still level after eleven

The KBO record shows no KT runs from the bottom of the eighth through the eleventh, and none for Lotte in the ninth through eleventh. The 2–2 score reached in the top of the eighth therefore became the final result. The chart separates scoring innings from the stretch with no further runs, making clear that no late lead change occurred.

The official highlights list also includes Iimura’s pitching to take the game into extra innings and defensive plays by Jang Jun-won and Jang Du-seong. The scoring clips explain Lotte’s comeback; the run-preventing plays help explain the later stages after the tie.
